CCAC's Annual Juried Show
Artists may drop-off their works for the Annual Juried show starting September 21. All media is welcome. Entry fee is $10.00 per piece and you may enter up to 3 pieces. All art work must be dropped of by October 1. You will be notified if your work is not entered into the show.
CCAC's Annual Photography Show
Drop-off for CCAC's Annual Photography Show runs from October 29 - November 5. Artists may enter up to 3 pieces of their work. Fee's follow the regular entry fee rules and can be found on the Call for Entries page from the menu above.
Alcohol Ink Class with Jennifer Lex Wojnar
Friday, September 28
6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
This month Jen will be instructing students how to use alcohol inks to create a beautiful and one-of-a-kind gourd. Students will be guided through the process of coloring their cannon ball gourd with alcohol inks. Holes will then be drilled around the rim so students may add a stone rim treatment. You may pick the colored stone you like from the colors Jen has available.
Class will start promptly at 6:00, please arrive early.
Class is $45.00 per person.

Kids Halloween Art Class at CCAC

Saturday, October 6, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Come spend the morning at the arts council making fun halloween art. Jennifer will start the morning off instructing the children how to make a watercolor resist spider web and pom pom spider. Next the kids can choose to paint a strophom pumpkin or a day of the dead plastic skull.
Please arrive a few minutes early. Registration is required.
$25.00 for first child $15.00 for additional child.

Cecil County Arts Council's 3rd Annual
6x6 Canvas Fundraiser 2018
If you haven't already, please drop-off all completed canvases to the arts council as soon as possible.
The 6x6 Canvas Fundraiser will be unveiled at the opening reception on Friday, October 6, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
*There is a $5 fee for any canvas not returned.
At the unveil, buyers purchase a 6x6 canvas ($20 each) to be able to flip it over to see who created it! Maybe you will purchase one from your favorite art teacher, the mayor or a famous performer! It's all a surprise!

Cecil County Arts Council's Celebration of the Arts and Silent Auction will take place Friday, November 2, 2018 at Schaefer's Canal House, Chesapeake City. The theme for this years party will be "Black & White". There will be music, dancing, dinner and dessert.
Items are now being accepted for our annual silent auction. Donated items can be brought to the arts council during regular business hours, or by appointment. Too busy to swing by? You can also arrange a pick-up of your donation.

Children's Art Lessons
Tully Lane, an art studio for kids, is offering children's art lessons for ages 5 through 10 with Lisa McKeown Dolor. Tully Lane is a beautifully situated art studio in Fair Hill that provides a nurturing environment to promote creativity, discovery and independent thinking.
Four week sessions are $48 and space is limited.

The Cecil County Arts Council is open Monday through Friday, 10 am-4 pm, and the first Saturday from 10 am-2 pm (unless closed due to holiday or inclement weather). The Arts Council acts as a clearinghouse for information on the arts in Cecil County. Now in its 41st year, the Arts Council is a non-profit organization, dedicated to “presenting, promoting and sustaining the arts in Cecil County”.
Supported, in part, by funding from the state, county, individual contributions, and sponsorship, the Arts Council is also a membership organization! We would love to include you as a member of this wonderful group of people!
At venues all throughout Cecil County, the Arts Council provides opportunities for the residents of our community to experience art events such as free concerts along the waterfront, exhibitions, workshops, classes and much more!
The Arts Council also provides grant and scholarship opportunities to community residents, organizations and schools. Each year, the Arts Council offers over $34,000 in sub-grants and scholarships to applicants.

Annual Juried Show Opening Reception
Join us on another First Friday for CCAC's Annual Juried Show! The opening reception will be held Friday, October 5 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Enjoy the sounds of DayTripper while seeing who the judge picked to win the prizes. There will be light refreshments served.
In conjuction with the Juried show, the unveiling of the 3rd Annual 6x6 Canvas Fundraiser will be at 5:00 p.m.! We hope to see you all there to pick your favorite 6x6 masterpiece. As always, these are free and family friendly events at the arts council.
Alcohol Ink Class

Portrait Study sessions take place on the 2nd floor of the arts council every Friday. Enhance your skills with a live model each week. Bring your art supplies, the arts council will provide tables, chairs and easels (limited quantity).

Figure Drawing Sessions at CCAC

You can join CCAC's Figure Drawing group every week on the 2nd floor gallery. All skill levels welcome, just bring your art supplies with you. All participants must be 18 years or older. Beginner Yoga Classes at CCAC with Be Yoga Fresh
Beginner Yoga Sessions with Amy are held every Thursday from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the back gallery of the arts council.

Join Amy as she combines the philosophies of yoga and the 12 step program to create a model that addresses addiction as the physical, mental and spiritual disease that it is.
These sessions are open to anyone dealing with their own addictive behavior or is affected by others. Sessions consist of an intentional yoga practice followed by a sharing circle. The sessions are not a substitute for an addiction program, they are an additional practice to it. Please arrive a few minutes early, and wear comfortable clothing.
This class is donation based.

In a joint venture with the main office of the Cecil County Public Library, the arts council has been offered an additional location for our featured artists to hang (and sell) their work! “Gallery 301” has opened at the Elkton Library branch and they welcome you to rotate your show from the front gallery of CCAC to the walls of CCPL! With more than 900 visitors, each day, the library is an excellent venue for your work to be seen and to be sold. Sales will be handled the same as they are at the gallery.

Artists In Action
Bring your supplies and join artists in the gallery to paint, draw, or sculpt the day away. Beginners and professionals meet to work on projects, and to share tips and tricks. You never know who will set up in the gallery! All ages and skill levels are welcome. Always FREE, come in every Wednesday from 10:30 am - 2:00 pm and spend the day with the CCAC.
Join the poets every first and third Tuesday of the month. Entertaining and always clever, these "word wizards" are worth a listen. Lunchlines meets at noon in the bright, cheery gallery for about an hour. Bring your lunch and enjoy! All ages are welcome and participation is free for all CCAC members.
